The process of manufacturing cardboard boxes from trees starts with the harvesting of trees and transporting the trunks to the manufacturing units where these trunks are subjected to chemical treatments that involve the use of sulphates. Tree trunks are converted into Kraft paper and the process is called krafting. Once the trunks are turned into pulp the fibers are formed, pressed and dried to convert them into Kraft paper. This Kraft paper forms the outer and inner layer of cardboard boxes these days. The middle layer is generally made of recycled raw material. The papers sandwiched together to form corrugated cardboard boxes that are sturdy and can hold any material within them.
